Harriet Backer Online Catalogue Raisonné (2024–ongoing) aims to present an authentic and chronological overview of the artist’s paintings. The project builds on the research and oeuvre catalogues by Marit Lange (1995), Else Christie Kielland (1958), and Erling Lone (1924). Since the most recent oeuvre catalogue from the mid-1990s, new research and source materials have emerged, and new photography provides a more accurate representation of the artworks. The project has undertaken a comprehensive collection and digitization of historical source materials relevant to Backer’s oeuvre. These resources form the foundation of the catalogue raisonné and serve as a basis for further research on all aspects of Backer’s artistic career.
