Harriet Backer. Jubilæumsutsilling
Anniversary exhibition at Bergens kunstforening on the occasion of Harriet Backer's 80th birthday in February and March of 1925. The earliest work was Solitude painted in Munich and Paris between 1878 and 80, and the latest was Interior from Vendelsborg painted in Asker outside of Oslo the previous summer. Some months before the exhibition opened the early painting The Farewell from 1878, which Harriet Backer had assumed was lost was found and was included in the exhibition. This was the first time The Farewell had been exhibited for almost 50 years.
Of the paintings shown in Oslo, View towards the Church Trefoldighetskirken and Andante II were not included in the exhibition in Bergen.
The exhibition had earlier that year been shown in Oslo and would later be on view in Stockholm.
