Harriet Backer's first exhbibition was an exhibition of student works at Knud Bergsliens school for painters in Christiania (Oslo) in the summer of 1872. In addition to the two paintings The Dairy Girls Holiday and Little Red Ridinghood Harriet Backers also exhibited a pencil sketch.
